Default Restraining Orders

Is there a significant activity that's required for someone to have a restraining order placed on them, or can anyone get one if they feel threatened?

I know of someone who's been calling his ex too often, and I'm afraid he may be a candidate for this if he doesn't back off.

Good question, Taggart. People who are being harassed on the phone would need a restraining order as much as someone being physically harassed, wouldn't they?

Well, I'm not sure about that. In the case of the person I know, he's also going past his ex's house and I think they've met since the breakup. I'm not sure if she's inclined to go that route or not.

I know she has spoken to the police about him.
