Georgia Pro Bono & Community Legal Resources

Approximately 14.8% of Georgia's roughly 9.8 million residents live at or below the federal poverty level. As a result, there is an urgent need for pro bono legal services and community legal resources in the state. Luckily, there are plenty of them to be had. Anyone who is living in poverty in Georgia and is in need of legal assistance should educate themselves about the many different resources that are readily available in Georgia. Pro Bono Services in Georgia

The preeminent pro bono organization is LegalAid-GA, which is a partnership between the Georgia Legal Services Program and the Atlanta Legal Aid Society. The organization runs on several different grants and other funds, and exists to help the low-income citizens of Georgia with their legal woes. The Atlanta Legal Aid Society began in 1924 and focuses on civil cases; the Georgia Legal Services Program covers every country in the state. Together, they provide the vast majority of pro bono services in Georgia.
